Beer Like Ice: Read ‘Em and Weep — for Joy!
After sports, after dinner, for dinner, or lunch: come on in. Somebody’s singing or the television’s on — or somebody’s singin’ on television, or dancing on television, hashing the news (on television), or swishing hoops . . . on television (tires me out just typin’ about it) – but no matter what: we have got beer!

Plant capital. Collect kegs. Refrigerate. Connect surgical tubing. And lookee there: a perfect row of Beer Spouts! That's the kind of gardening that works for us.
So should you get the notion to drown in an ocean, come by the bar at The Georgia Boy Cafe at Park Circle first.
Weepin’s allowed.
Laughter too.
Plenty of samplin’ to do.
But no drownin’ (on the premises)!
We expect that between the Heavy Seas and that old reliable Natty Bo – perhaps a Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy between – you’ll have forgotten all about whatever it was anyway.
But then, if you still must, we remind you the nearest ocean is about four hours due east at high speed.
While we’re right here in Hagerstown, Maryland and serving up Western Maryland’s Best, Most Soulful Southern’ Cookin’!
The better to make sense of all the beer we feature on tap (or in bottles).
See you soon.
Ice Tea, Unsweetened (My Choice Last Night), Fried Flounder and Sides

Lightly breaded flounder fillets served with mashed potatoes, green beans, corn bread, and tartar sauce.
I know: a bar is a bar.
Except when it has a great traditional southern kitchen.
Then it’s like home.
Relaxed.
Straightforward.
Unpretentious.
Plain good from the iced tea to the fish to the cornbread.

C’mon . . . Who Are They Really?
Ta Da Entertainment on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ta-Da-Entertainment/307424841558
Local girl makin’ good, “Kimi”, and rock star lighting legend Jim Greenawalt — stages he has known include those of Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Lenny Kravitz, Genesis, Joe Satriani, and Chickenfoot — to make everybody look and sound great.
Queen Earth: http://www.queenearth.com/
This comes directly from Queen Earth’s website bio:
“QueenEarth is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, emcee, beatboxer, music lover, and people lover. A Pittsburgh native, she attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2004, double minoring in History and Pan-African Studies. She was the vice president, emcee and an actor In a campus improvisational troupe, F.L.U.S.H (Friends Living Under Serious Hardships), an HIV/AIDS advocacy philanthropy. She settled in Baltimore to pursue a graduate degree in Modern Studies from Loyola College in Maryland.”
Yeah. In length, the passage comprises about 12 percent of what else she has to brag — and it’s all just as good!
Spit Ur Peace – Spoken Word – Open Mic
From God’s mind to their mouths to your ears — every man, every woman, has a few things they’re just dyin’ to tell ya straight up, twisted, and splashed by a rainbow.
Skyla Burrell Band: http://www.skylaburrell.com/fr_home.cfm
Recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Skyla, and here I will quote her page quoting a writer for the Suncoast Blues Society, ” . . . has earned a reputation as one of the hardest working women in the Blues. She leads her talented band through all original high-energy offerings of Blues that range from jumping, jazzy and swinging to rockin’ Memphis soul and smoldering straight-up Chicago. Through it all her voice runs up and down your spine while she wails away on her guitar and your feet just can’t be still.”
Uh huh.
You want to jam with that?
Do.
Here. Sunday afternoon, 4 p.m. See you then.
Oppenheim Acoustic Music
About myself . . . old songs, new songs, sad songs, blue songs — and a few all my own. Aurel effect: easy dining, easier drinkin’, easy to talk with, pretty much a laid back lounge act.
How with it, not with it, far out and far gone?
Let’s just say this cat starts out channeling Stephen Foster, does his Dylan, and doesn’t get far past Judy Garland or one or two pieces by Ray Charles, altogether, a pleasant way of passing a Tuesday evening away from the computer and television and whatever other domestic or employment nuisance might need escapin’ (on a school night, no less).
Stack O Blues
Our friend Pete Lancaster who has been a mainstay within the Hagerstown Area, returns along with Stack O Blues this Friday 8pm. Stack O’ Blues is simultaneously grounded in the early, traditional blues masters, yet leavened with influences from later masters like Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Johnny Winter and even Neil Young.
